Typhoon Dolphin Triggers Mass Evacuations and Flight Cancellations in China

Typhoon Dolphin has recently made landfall in eastern China, leading to evacuations and significant disruptions. More than one million people have been relocated to safety as the storm brings heavy rainfall and the potential for flooding and landslides. Wenzhou, located in Zhejiang province, reported relocating over 900,000 residents and has opened numerous emergency shelters.

Reports indicate that travel disruptions are widespread, with hundreds of flights grounded and essential services interrupted in various provinces. State media has mentioned that a nine-year-old boy is missing after being swept into the sea during the storm's impact.

The storm has posed considerable challenges for local authorities, who are working to manage the evacuations and ensure the safety of residents. Emergency preparations are in place as the storm's aftermath continues to affect daily life and infrastructure.
