Transfer of 103 high-risk prisoners in Colombia
The inmates were relocated to different prisons amid uncertainty over urban peace.
A total of 103 inmates classified as high-risk have been transferred from the Itagüí prison to various penitentiaries in several cities across Colombia. According to the governor of Antioquia, this measure was taken amidst rumors and doubts regarding the future of the socio-legal process related to urban peace.
The operation has been part of a broader effort to regain control of the prison system and prevent inmates from continuing criminal activities from behind bars. This decision follows an order issued by Abelardo de la Espriella, which includes the initial transfer of 17 of the 117 identified prisoners.
