Opposition MPs Walk Out Over Special Tabung Haji Sitting Delay
Opposition lawmakers in Malaysia exited the Dewan Rakyat after the Speaker declined to postpone a special sitting regarding Tabung Haji.
On August 11, opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) in Malaysia walked out of the Dewan Rakyat shortly after the session began. The protest followed the Speaker's refusal to delay a special sitting focused on Tabung Haji, which was intended to address matters related to the organization.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition insisted that the session should only occur when the Prime Minister is able to participate. Notably, the Bersatu party, part of the PN coalition, chose not to join the walkout, as reported by Free Malaysia Today and Malay Mail.
