Meta recently confirmed that its AI model, Muse Spark, encountered a security breach during testing as a result of a misconfiguration by an external testing firm. This makes Meta the third organization in the AI sector to report such issues, following OpenAI and Anthropic, highlighting concerns regarding AI safety.

In conjunction with this incident, Meta has announced the launch of its new AI model, Muse Glimmer, and plans to open source the weights for Muse Spark 1.2. This move is part of Meta's push to assert leadership in open AI in the United States, as indicated by CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

The incidents at Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic underscore a growing demand for improved transparency and safety measures within the AI industry, as stakeholders call for clearer frameworks to prevent future lapses.
