Malacañang Suspends Classes and Work in NCR and 15 Provinces on August 10

Malacañang has announced the suspension of classes and the implementation of work-from-home arrangements in government offices across Metro Manila and 15 provinces due to expected heavy rainfall from the southwest monsoon, also known as habagat. This directive, encapsulated in Memorandum Circular No. 123, affects both public and private educational institutions, mandating that all face-to-face classes be halted.

The provinces affected by this order include those in Luzon where the impact of the monsoon is anticipated to be significant. This action was taken in light of safety concerns amid the adverse weather conditions expected on August 10, 2026.
