Inmate Ivan Pamina escapes during work duties in Paramaribo
In Suriname, 50-year-old Ivan John Pamina has escaped from the Central Penitentiary during work duties near the Palmentuin.

On Monday, 50-year-old Ivan John Pamina escaped from the Central Penitentiary Institution (CPI) Santo Boma in Suriname. This occurred during work duties in the vicinity of the Palmentuin on Grote Combéweg, according to reports from Waterkant and Starnieuws.
Pamina was serving a twelve-year sentence following a conviction for robbery. He was admitted to the penitentiary on November 22, 2023, and managed to escape on Monday.
Authorities are currently conducting a search for the escaped inmate. Details regarding the circumstances of the escape are not yet fully known.
