Increase in Fuel Fraud in Italy, According to the Guardia di Finanza
In recent months, fuel prices have increased, along with fraud in the sector, as reported by the Guardia di Finanza.

According to the Guardia di Finanza, fuel fraud is on the rise throughout Italy. Between March 1 and July 31, 2026, 4,800 interventions were carried out, resulting in the seizure of 20,000 tons of goods and the denunciation of 265 individuals.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit) reported a decline in fuel prices, with diesel at €2.073 per liter and self-service green petrol at €1.983 per liter. Prices at motorway service stations also remained stable.
