Monte dei Paschi di Siena (Mps) closed the first half of the year with a net profit of €1.1 billion, an increase of 25.3% compared to the same period in 2025. The Cet1 capital ratio rose to 16.3%, offering 'broad strategic flexibility', as reported by ANSA and Il Sole 24 ORE.

Generali reported a profit of €2.5 billion, surpassing gross premiums of €53 billion. The Combined Ratio increased to 91.5%, according to information provided by ANSA.

Cassa di Ravenna saw its profit rise by 4.14% in the first half. Additionally, there was a reported increase in loans to households of 62.2% and a growth of 92.1% in disbursements to businesses, as noted by ANSA.

For the five major Italian banks, including Intesa Sanpaolo, Unicredit, Banco Bpm, Mps, and Bper, a total net profit of over €15 billion was recorded, marking the best result ever in the first half of 2026, according to Rai News.
