Easyjet acquired by investor Apollo
British airline Easyjet is being acquired by Apollo Global Management for £5.7 billion, approximately €6.7 billion.

Easyjet, the British airline, is being acquired by Apollo Global Management, an American investment firm. Apollo is making a bid of £5.7 billion, which is approximately €6.7 billion.
This acquisition comes after Easyjet has been involved in a takeover battle for some time. In May 2023, the American investment company Castlelake made an offer of £6.90 per share.
In July 2023, Apollo entered the fray with an increased bid of £7.15 per share. Ultimately, Easyjet opted for Apollo's offer, indicating that this bid was successful.

Founder and major shareholder Stelios Haji-Ioannou has announced his support for Apollo's bid. This could influence the acceptance of the takeover by other shareholders.
The exact implementation of the takeover and its further implications for Easyjet are still under review.
