The foreign ministers of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) will discuss the situation in Guinea-Bissau and the future presidency of the organization during a Council of Ministers meeting.

This meeting is set to take place on August 19 in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, where ministers hope to address Guinea-Bissau's suspension from the CPLP, which occurred last December.

The suspension was a response to the coup that ousted Umaro Sissoco Embaló and led to the interruption of the electoral process in that country.

The agenda of the meeting will also include considerations regarding the normalization of the political situation in Guinea-Bissau, as well as measures to ensure that the political transition in the country unfolds peacefully and steadily.

CPLP ministers have the opportunity to collaborate in strengthening the organization and promoting solidarity among member states, particularly in times of crisis.
