China requests to join WTO consultations on U.S. tariffs

China requested on Monday, October 10, to join the consultations at the World Trade Organization (WTO) related to Brazil's action against the high tariffs imposed by the United States. According to the statement, Beijing highlighted that it has a "substantial commercial interest" in the process.

The tariffs could reach 37.5% and were implemented following investigations initiated by the USTR regarding trade practices. Brazil has brought the case to the WTO to contest these measures.

In response, the United States stated that it is "available" to discuss the matter, showing a willingness to engage in dialogue regarding the imposed tariffs. This situation is ongoing with China's involvement.
