Carlos Domínguez joins Oviedo on loan from Celta

Celta de Vigo has reached a preliminary agreement with Real Oviedo to loan central defender Carlos Domínguez for one season. According to sources close to the negotiations reported to EFE, Domínguez will play at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium during the 2026-27 season.

The 25-year-old player has decided to prioritize a change of category to have more opportunities to play, despite receiving offers from La Liga teams. It is expected that at Oviedo, the player will enjoy greater continuity in his career.

In the context of this loan, Celta has reached the limit of loan opportunities permitted in Spain, which means that any other transferable player from the club will need to seek other options to leave.

Oviedo's coach, Julián Calero, will have Domínguez in his squad, who will share the team with his former teammate David Costas, also a known figure in Asturian football.
