The National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) winners have been revealed, with Baker Boy receiving significant recognition for his contributions to music. The Yolŋu hip-hop artist, also known as Danzal Baker, won three major awards including album of the year, song of the year, and film clip of the year for his sophomore album, 'Djandjay.'
Baker Boy's achievements at the NIMAs highlight his influence in the music industry, particularly in the Indigenous music scene. His album 'Djandjay' is dedicated to his late grandmother, reflecting a personal connection to his work.
In addition to Baker Boy's accomplishments, the NIMAs also honored the Butchulla duo Birdz and Fred Leone, who were awarded artist of the year. Meanwhile, Drifting Clouds received the best new talent award during the ceremony.
