Arrest of Valter Lavitola linked to attack against Sigfrido Ranucci

On October 16, 2025, an explosive device detonated near the home of Sigfrido Ranucci, host of Report. This attack initiated an investigation that led to significant developments in the following months.

Investigations revealed that the attack was allegedly orchestrated by a group of individuals, with four arrests made at the end of June for suspected ties to the action against Ranucci. Authorities also examined wiretaps during the course of the investigation.

According to a warrant that led to Lavitola's arrest, the former director of Avanti, the entrepreneur was identified as the alleged mastermind behind the attack, intending to turn Ranucci into a target to boost his popularity.

Lavitola was investigated as a suspected mastermind in early July and subsequently arrested on August 10. The motivations behind his involvement could be linked to a political interest in promoting Ranucci.
